What is local government fraud?
Many municipalities, including Broward County, Florida, and Miami-Dade County Florida have enacted False Claims Ordinances to protect county government from fraud.
Local government fraud usually falls into the Procurement Fraud category. Again, however, fraud schemes are limited only by the imagination of the fraudsters. There are many schemes, other than Procurement Fraud, used to cheat local governments.
