Adam Rabin to Receive Henry Latimer Leadership and Professionalism Award from University of Miami School of Law

The University of Miami School of Law will present firm partner Adam Rabin with its Henry Latimer Leadership and Professionalism Award on November 4, 2017 at the School of Law’s annual Homecoming Breakfast. Henry Latimer was the first African American Circuit Judge in Broward County and was in line, after entering private practice, to become Florida Bar President when he passed away in a car accident in 2005. Because of Latimer’s ability and reputation for professionalism, The Florida Bar’s Center for Professionalism was posthumously assigned Latimer’s namesake.

The School of Law will be recognizing Adam for his service to the bar and community, including his dedication to improving lawyer professionalism and civility throughout South Florida. Adam was the original chair and co-chair of the South Florida Joint Civility Project (the “Project”), better known by its iconic buttons that ask “Got Civility?”. The Project recruited 44 voluntary bar associations throughout South Florida and 8 chief judges throughout South Florida to sign a joint resolution to promote improved lawyer civility throughout the region. The Project also was successful in having all four circuit courts in South Florida (11th, 15th, 17th and 19th) issue administrative orders adopting uniform Standards of Professional Courtesy and Civility for the South Florida region.

Adam is a past president of the Palm Beach County Bar Association and serves currently on The Florida Bar Board of Governors for Palm Beach County.
